hey guys quick thing.... whats the difference between an APC prop for electric, and an APC prop for a nitro?

electric

nitro

one is meant for electric engines, one for nitro engines. IIRC the electric ones are not for use on nitro, the other way around might be ok. looking at the pictures, the hub looks to be a different size also.

My brain is all screwed up. so i got my 3d printer last week and started messing with a couple of programs for beginners one of them is tinker cad. so my problem right now is that when ever i run into an image, like today i'm at work and i run into an image of an item and all of a sudden im trying to look at the item as if i was on tinker cad. you now how you navigate on the 3d software with all 3 buttons moving around the object that you are creating. well after trying this for about 15sec. it hit me and thought to myself what the heck am i trying to do???. has this happen to any of you Lol.

Mainly the electric ones are lighter duty. Ive run several "nitro" props on electric motors. Only problem ive had is sometimes the hub is a little thick so your shaft on the motor might not be long enough to go all the way through.

So if I was to put one on my motor I wouldn't damage the motor... Except in the event of a crash..... Otherwise they are fine to use on a motor?

If they are heavier, then your putting more load on the motor to accelerate it. If your already near your limits for the motor, you could cause issues.

I would be using a 1040 prop and recommended is a 1047...... So a bit lower pitch...?
General rule I use is to go up in size go down in pitch and vice versa. IE if 1040 is recommended youd be safe with 9 5, 8 6. You can generally go up one in size if you keep pitch the same in my experience too so an 1140 usually works fine.
