What Did You Fly Today

Got an additional 5 flights in the soccer field using the F-117 and nothing to report other than having a good time. Practiced approaches trying to find what slow speed I can use where it still has good control of elevons. It is nice feeling to have when a new design is added to my fleet. Again, impressed with the way the Adams Ready-board foam goes together and holds up. Will really be a challenge doing a SR-72, especially with a long nose and heavy battery up in the front.

Built a new racer, and well. Fast.
Outrunning cars doing 55 so like, fast

Haven't flown in a couple of months due to one thing or another (working or weather!), so took the Airnox Spitfire out for a lot of circuits around the field behind my house.

However, my stupid camera didn't record anything!!

Here's a photo of it from a couple of years ago, though....

All digital! My aircraft are down for repair, but I finally did a smart thing and put an RC Sim on my PC.

Got so much stick time, I ran the batteries all the way down on the FlySky! Did you know its Low Battery sounds like a game Target Lock warning? I didn't! 🤣

This one arrived in the mail today:

Eachine E135, based on a Eurocopter/Airbus EC-135. It’s a quirky little thing, it’s capable of inverted flight - but you get there by pressing a button. The gyro prevents you from rolling or pitching to inverted manually!

It does look good though. 😃

Successful maiden of the 70mm J-20, with extra inboard thrust-vectored elevons. Should be fun to learn the flight envelope.
I built a Thrust vector twin pusher version of the J-20 and it was a handful albeit a huge deal fun 😂😂 good luck learning the flight envelope ….. it’s a big one lol
Looks good tho 👍🏻

Please take some videos. Very interested on how it will react with the open dimension between the edf exhaust and your elevons. You will find it is a blast once you master it. In your case, it will be based on EDF speed and your deflections on the elevons.

I used a TV nozzle and flies real nice in a dome. They are hard to find now.

Ayy you’re doing a parkjet style one. +1 to number of people wanting to see a video of it in action! :D
The basic plans came from the resources page under subject "J-20 VS F-22" from user "zenith.hjx". I used a eFlight Habu STS 70mm with 4S on the J-20, and currently not that happy with the thrust. The F-22 used a generic Amazon 70mm that put out more (but threw a blade on flight #10). Lots of induction noise with square edge intake on the J-20, so I'm gonna 3D print a flaired intake nozzle and see if that works better. Super controllable at high-alpha, fast spins, obviously. It is all taped up with white packing tape, so about ready to start a paint scheme with Fusion rattlecan.

Can videos only be uploaded after posting in Youtube? I've never done that.

No flight video yet, but it flys great. The stock eFlight STS 70mm fan (4s max) had a lot of induction noise with that sharp edge intake (all out in the open), so it was not too efficient. I added a 3D printed 91mm flaired nozzle and it really came alive. Huge difference.
