why are edfs expensive?

They did for a while with a partnership with Grayson Hobby: https://graysonhobby.com/ft-viggen-70mm-edf-power-package-ultimate.html

Looks like these are out of stock, but you can copy the specs down and purchase something similar for the Viggen or other 70mm EDF plane.
