Edf as second plane?

My EDF has a 3800kv motor, and I’m flying on either 3s or 4s with a 60A ESC. You could maybe get away with a 40A on 3s battery but you would need to avoid continuous full throttle flying. I’d suggest looking at the manufacturer performance tables for your EDF and seeing what they recommend.
so a does that mean I should go with a 60a esc? I think I'll use a 4s 2200mah battery will it be OK?

Depends on your fan. Do you have any details with it to help? A data sheet or instructions?
sorry for replying late. here's the data sheet. will this motor be able to give enough power for a depron plane?I want to build the jetworks f-35 but they require a 2840-KV3150 motor. I will use the 4s motor. thanks

and I have another question. does higher the kv mean lesser power? the edf data sheet says that the 3s 4000kv motor gives 950 g of thrust. but the 4s 3200kv motor gives 1250g of thrust. I'm confused shouldn't the higher kv give more thrust?

those two thrust numbers are not relevant when it comes to kv because they use different voltages and thus spin at different speeds. the 3s one spins at 4000X11.1rpm and the 4s one spins at 3200X14.8rpm so the 4s one even though it has a lower kv in fact spins faster and delivers more thrust.

It is a common misconception that kV is related to power. The motor kV simply determines its speed of rotation. Within reason you have the same kV for any size (power) of brushless motor.
A reasonable guide to power (Watts) a motor can create is its weight. There is a limit to how much power a given amount of iron, copper and magnets can create so more means more power.
