ABC STEM Trifecta Group Build

That T50 flight I posted on this thread has elevons and ailerons
Yea it looked pretty whippy as far as handling went. I haven't quite figured out the mixing on this Tx program. It's a Spektrum DXe which uses the laptop to program and it is Rx sensitive to what it can mix. Only if I use certain Spektrum Rx's will it let me run mixes. I used the Spektrum AR620 and it didn't even recognize that one, to new of a model I guess and there are no updates for it.

The Vtail mixer though is something I am interested in, I eventually want to build a Vtail twin speed plane at some point over the winter. Actually that might be the answer, isn't it two leads in and 3 out?

That little V Tail mixer comes in really handy, no mixes in the tx at all, 1 lead into the ele channel and the other into the ail channel and away you go you have elevons. :)

I am not familiar with your tx so I can't help you there but you would think you could assign the aileron to another channel .
If you can't mix in another channel what you could do with an extra Y lead and the V Tail mixer is on the rx channel for ailerons plug in a Y lead now on 1 end goes to the V Tail mixer and the other end to the mixer end goes into the elevator channel so that gives your elevons still. Now with that extra end off of the Y lead is plug in another Y and then you 2 aileron leads. I can draw a picture if you need.
The only draw back to this way is your rate adjustments will affect both the ailerons and elevons for roll, you won't be able to adjust them separately other then mechanically

Those V Tail mixers you can get almost anywhere , it doesn't have to be from HK.

I looked at them awhile ago maybe on the same HK site. I am sure the LHS has them on stock. Soon I will be making a bunch of purchases, I have a wish list of around $1000 which includes a new Tx, a twin radial C pack, a couple of EDF's, and some high Kv motors for prop-n-slots. There is going to be a revamp of my budget system of debacles that I have seemed to get myself into. Now that I know what I am looking for it should get interesting here in the future.

Thanks for the ideas and tips

@BATTLEAXE I did it man! Maiden will be up soon. Camera was too far down most the time, so not much video will work, but I’ll edit the clips. The landing was one of my best!

Nice! How did it fly though, was it fast? Did you fly it fast? Do you like it? When do I get to see the vid? Can you tell I am excited for you?!
It could use 4s, but I’d say it was comparable to my ft-22 on the b pack. Not overpowered for sure, and not unlimited vertical. It just overall feels bigger and a tad bit clumsy, but it’s got some speed, especially when you bring it in for a low close full throttle pass😉. I was hoping you’d be excited cause I sure am! I love it and I think I will even more once I get it painted up sweet! It’s a great bird👍 Are you going to be able to maiden your A-22 today? I’ll post my vid when I get a chance, which will be some time today.

I checked the weather and it should be a good day to maiden the A-22. I am going to shower and wait for the woman to leave for work at round 2. The wind should be light and the skies blue. Perfect day to maiden.

What color scheme are you going to go with?

Nice. Going to put metallic silver and and paint the hatch black. I’ll have white and maybe black stripes on the bottom for orientation.

So the woman left for work and the kids are done their schoolwork, and it decides to rain lol. I should have been a weather man so I could be wrong most of the time and still keep my job :ROFLMAO:
Lol - good one😆
Decided I am gonna poly and paint the plane instead. Should I do winter camo again or go with the shark theme...?
knowing you, either one is going to look fabulous when you’re done, but the shark theme might be cool since you already did the winter cameo... but the winter cameo looked super sharp going through the air...

I really liked the winter camo as well, that's why part of me wants to do it again. But since I have already done it, it seems kinda redundant, and if this plane lasts into the snowy season it might be a little counter productive to find when she goes down.

The grey on top, white on the bottom might be cool, black out the cockpit windows, and maybe red for the Vstabs, if I have enough red left.

Hard to say
