Building a correx plane.

Hi I am new here and wondered if anyone has built an RC plane from correx? I built a spitfire from from correx many years ago. It was called the CORROSPIT by the guys who designed it. This is their site...http://www.spadtothebone.net/

I have used the same plans and built the CORROSPIT from DEPRON foam. Looks ok and I hope to fly it soon.

Would be interesting to see Flite Test build a plane from correx:)

Me too, seeings how the techniques are pretty much all the same and only the materials are different. Frankly, the in the Kansas/Missouri area these foamy planes only last well inside. Take em outside and the relative humidity has you with a floppy sponge in no time, even after the min wax.

I did a spitfire and bloody wonder from Coro.
Both fly great and hold up extremely well. Pictures are on my profile page if you want a look. I used 2mm sheet for the builds.

Hi folks, thanks for the reply. Your planes look great DEGRIZ.

Corospit (depron type).jpg

This is my depron version of the Corrospit. The original corrospit which I built from correx was a lot more heavy than this and I used a .25 glow engine. It flew really well and could take really hard knocks. Even flying into a tree at full throttle didn't do much damage. Correx is very tough stuff. This depron one uses a EMAX GT2215/09 1180kv motor with a 10x4.7 prop. Motor produces 2.76 pounds of thrust. Hope to fly it soon.
