I tried to pull out of a dive into a loop with my full size guinea pig and the left wing snapped right at the engine nacelle. I printed the plans to cut a new wing but decided to add some mods. Looked at a few 3D printed motor mounts available before deciding to model my own. So i pulled up some pictures of an Allison T56, opened solid works and came up with the prototype you see in the pictures.
The design needs optimized for weight and strength, and I may add more details to the exterior. Should have good ESC cooling, and its designed to be somewhat swap-able as well. I'm going to run some bench tests and make sure nothing shears off. Also need to improve on the mounting, it could be glued on, but I'm planing to make some blocks which slide into the voids in the wing and allow it to be screwed on.
Original foam pod and nacelle weighed about 45grams without the motor and ESC. Currently the 3D printed version is about 110grams. Goal is to be under 90.
