dx5e mode 1 to mode 2

hi, posting for a friend of mine.

he recently got a screaming deal on a special order dx5e. when he received it he discovered it was a mode 1 receiver. i know its possible with the computerized receivers to switch modes, but is it possible with the dx5e?

not sure if it is doable on the tx,
but it should be better swapping the gimbals around rather than via program.
need some soldering works perhaps.
