Introducing the newest additional to the FT Mighty Mini family, and this time we have twins! The FT Mini Guinea (Cargo Plane) and the FT Mini Cruiser.

These Mighty Minis feature twin motors and can be setup with differential thrust! You can learn more about setting up differential thrust here: http://flitetest.com/articles/ft-cruiser-build

We're excited to introduce these mini twin speed build kits because they are simple a blast to fly!

The FT Mini Cruiser is scaled down from it's big brother The FT Cruiser.

In the air, it's hard to tell which airplane is the large scale and which is the mini!

The FT Mini Guinea cargo plane and the FT Mini Cruiser (cruzr) share all the same fun as their larger counterpart but can be assembled with less foam board material and smaller motors.

The FT Mini Guinea features a removable nose and large cargo area and bay door.

The mini cargo plane is a fun airship and with it's large cargo area and removable nose, it's a great platform to experiment on!

The FT Mighty Mini Guinea cargo plane is available as a speed build kit and plans will be available soon if you would like to scratch build your own!

As with all of our laser precision cut speed built kits that we have available in our store, we will also have available free build plans.

You guys have out done your selves again! the mini guinea looks great with the windows cut out and the cruiser looks like a spinning top with the differential thrust.

Ah, I spoke too soon in my last post.

The Glorious Wacky Wavy Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men are back! Glad to see them survive Flite Fest.

mad_milchmann -- In the video they said they were using Emax MT 1804-2480 motors...which is the same 14-gram motor they recommended for the single-motor minis (except two of them for the twins of course). And Peter said that's giving him enough power to hover...or to carry a GoPro with ease. They even said in the video that you could use a 10-gram motor (as I am using successfully on my mini-Scout). So it sounds like a relatively big/heavy 24-gram Blue Wonder motor like you have would not be ideal...depending of course on what your goals are for the plane.

I wonder if the are useing counter rotating props ? And I hope they do a video on costom throthle mix . :)

For my Mini Speedster I used a similar ZMR 1804 motor. On my bench tests it pulled 190g on 2S with GemFan 5030 prop and only burned 33 watts doing it. On the Cruiser that should be in the neighborhood of 1.75 to 2:1 thrust to weight ratio. An HQ 6030 managed 220g on the same setup, but an HQ 5045 (the other recommended prop is an HQ 6045) got the motor too hot, smelling like burnt insulation, and reading about 190*F in under a minute, so I didn't do a full test with that prop. They recommend HQ 5030 as one of the props, but I've found that GemFan 5030 props give more thrust, but at the expense of a little more current. GemFan props are also about half the cost of HQ props. A good middle ground may be the HQ 5040, I've not tested that one yet.

I wanted to use it as an FPV plattform, for getting into FPV. so I was lloking for something that can lift a bit and can fly slow with long flighttimes. but sooner or later, i might want to go fast, too so the plane should not only fly slow ;)
Up until now I was aiming for a blunt nose Versa, but the mini guinea looks more appropriate now.

the reason i ask is, that i already have one of the blue wonders hooked up to a scaled down power-pod that i bulit for a scaled down baby blender I built (but still hadn't time to maiden :( ).
so i would have half the motors already at home and mounted so to say ;)

I was thinking about using 1000mAh or 1300mAh 3S.

in the comments for the blue wonder on the HK site someone says that they draw 5.7A on a 6x3 prop and 6.3 on a 5x5 on 3S. that seems a bit low, but even if you add a bit to be sure the A consumption schouldn't be much more than from the Motors that the FT guys recommend (data sheet sys between 6.4 and 7.1).

at least I thought so :/

mad_milchmann -- I use that same 1700 kv Blue-Wonder motor on my F-22 (the original F-22 design from the first Flitetest episode that featured it). I originally used it with an APC 6x4E prop on 3S, which I bench-tested at 9.3 amps/110 watts. Flying with that prop, the thrust was good (enough to hover), but the speed was disappointing. So I bench-tested an APC 6x5.5E, and the power draw was 10.7 amps at 122 watts. That gave better speed, and it still hovers. Some people (in the RCG thread for the F-22) have reported using an APC 7x5E. With that, my bench test showed 12.6 amps, 145W. The stats for the motor say max current 9.2A, but on all the different kv Blue-wonders I have used, I have found that as long as the motor is out in open air, you can push it a little more than the rated amps and the motor will barely get warm.

The other factor is what diameter prop you can use on the little cargo plane and still have decent ground-clearance. Since they said minimum 2000 kv motor, I wonder if they're using a 5-inch prop or what. I doubt that a 7-inch prop would have good clearance.

I'm the one using the 10-gram motor...on 2S with a GWS 6x3 prop. A 5x3 performs about the same, from my flight testing with another plane (if need be for clearance).

ok that's a lot more Amps then... and i completely forgot that the props need enough clearance. didn't have a cup of coffe yet when I wrote the last post. So I'll probably have to get the emax motors or similar 10g ones...
well that might push the project to after christmas when I know how much i had to spend for presents :/

Hy, guys! May I present you KARGOTRON :D
The fuselage is a bit twisted, but it makes no difference at all. Takes off and lands very nice on wheels. I used the 16gram Hextronik motors with 5x3 counter rotating props.

PS. Sorry for the image quality, didn't have enough light.
