Help with FT RV-12iS

I am building my first RC Plane with an 11 year old who is obsessed with planes. We have been enjoying following along on the build video up until the landing gear step (here:
).

He mentions the "medium guage wire" but we have no idea what thickness that is and the one we assumed it to be is INCREDIBLY hard to bend, and feels far more than medium guage. I am wondering if we have the right parts sent to us and am trying to find any information on this plane or through Flite Test that I can consult.

Any help or guidance for us newbies would be greatly appreciated!

On the FT Store the medium is 1/10" (.1"). You might have the thicker 1/8" (.125"). It will work, but it is heavier and more difficult to work with than the medium.

That's super helpful, let me see if I have a good caliper to measure appropriately!
(Though the medium page says 3 mm and thick says 3.1mm but I will trust your reading first!)

My local Ace Hardware carries K&S music wire, which is the correct kind to use. I believe 3/32 is medium.

When my local Ace was out of stock, they happily ordered more for me with free pickup. The .039” is used for pushrods.
