Help! Ft Aura 5 with FT Guinea Pig

This is my first self built airplane. I am just confused on the wiring and setup. I am using a RadioMaster Pocket and a R88. I cant figure out to wire and setup the aura 5 lite. I was able to get the left motor and allerions working but not anything else. I followed the Differential thrust video for the aura. Any help will be much appreciated.
The left motor also speeds all the way up about halfway and then goes slow then all the way up again.
It is also the full size Guinea.

I have several Aura 5 boards and can help you get it configured.

I am curious how you have everything currently wired.

R88 --> Aura 5 (Which port on the R88 is plugged in to which port on the Aura 5?)

Aura 5 Which motors and servos do you have plugged in to the PWM outputs?
Ch1
Ch2
Ch3
Ch4
Ch5

How do you have the Inputs, Mixes, and outputs mapped on the RadioMaster Pocket?

Pictures are often helpful.

Cheers!

Ok. So far so good. I am going to download the latest configurator and set one of my boards up with the latest firmware. I had issues this spring with differential thrust, and I want to give it another go with the latest software. I'll post my results up when it's set up and working.

I updated to the latest firmware from 1.21 to 1.22, but do not believe it made any difference. Part of the problem I was having was making assumptions that when the Mix was active, differential thrust was enabled. For whatever reason, It acts the OPPOSITE of what I expect. When I look at the mix with the switch in position 0, it shows in pos.1 and mix inactive, yet the differential thrust WORKS... ?? I don't fully understand what they are doing with this mix. If I set it to Always On, the differential thrust never works.??? By default, whatever switch you have assigned to CH6 on your transmitter enables/disables differential thrust.

So steps I did to get Diff thrust to work correctly:

1) Reset the aura to default configuration using the Aura config tool while connected to the board. (Aura Tools --> Convert Aura)

The firmware will be installed and settings reset followed by the following prompt

After clicking ok the Config Tool will Disconnect from the board. Wait until the board quits flashing and DO NOT RECONNECT TO THE BOARD.

Create a NEW Config File

Select the product type:

Select Twin Throttle with Differential, Set your Config Name, wing type, tail type, and receiver information and once all the required fields are filled, the PWM output mapping will be displayed at the bottom of the window.

Now Click [Finish] and it will pop up with a window to save the new config file.

After the file is Saved, [Connect] to the aura and then [Write All to Aura]

After you do the write to aura, the mixing will be set up and it "should" work.

Cheers!

You should add two switches to your radio config.

Channel 5 should be a 3 position switch to select the flight mode
Channel 6 should be a two position switch to enable/disable Differential.

You should add two switches to your radio config.

Channel 5 should be a 3 position switch to select the flight mode
Channel 6 should be a two position switch to enable/disable Differential.
I have both the switch’s setup.
I am now having an issue where I power it on, it blinks blue for a couple seconds the just goes solid orange.

Quick video showing board LEDs and demo of throttle differential using the Elevons instead of two motors for better visualization

FYI, I did a quick test to see if yaw was stabilized via thrust differential and it does not appear to be in any of the flight modes.

Can you post a screenshot of the configurator showing the receiver configuration? Sounds like the protocol may not be set to sbus or the port may be wrong.

Looks like you copied the spektrum config from my setup page.

I run S.Bus on my other Aura 5 plane. Should look more like this:

You may need to change the Channel Order to match your Transmitter config. I run SpekTrum order TAER. Most FrSky setups run AETR

Now both the motors and rudder are the only things that are working. Sorry for all the questions
