Must... make... more. Wanna help me test?

Hi all. New to the forums, but have been watching flite test stuff since the beginning. I haven't flown much, myself, but flight has always fascinated me, and I couldn't stop making stuff if I tried. I would like to get involved in the designing and making aspect of things, so I might be posting some ideas Ive had, or models I'm working on.

My last weekend project that'll actually take 6 weeks is 3D modeling a Dyke Delta to eventually be printed. Anyone with some ultra-light filament want to help test it? Also I might be able to give you CAD of all the pieces I traced from a sport-scale model I found, if someone wants to laser cut the kit as it was designed.

I also have some ideas for tools to help make cutting the bevels and inside corners in hobby foam easier/more accurate. If you make stuff out of foam, and have a 3D printer, I'd love some feedback once I have a working prototype.

With the Delta (its's the JD-2, btw,) What I would need help with is making the spaces for all the internals. I have very little RC experience, compared to most people on this forum, so I'd need some advice about what kind of room I'd need to fit servos and batteries and whatnot. What scale should it be? What are common components I can model around? I have some incomplete plans that I used to make the model, but they're pretty old. I'd like to design around modern electronics

I can provide 2d views, or the model itself. I would just like someone to sketch out some locations of servos, motors, batteries, brains, cable routing, etc. I'm going to start with just open cavities, but with 3d printing, hollow parts can increase the number of walls, where minimal infil might be lighter.

I should have saved this for it's own thread... After this intro post, I'll work on the model a little and then I might start a new post specifically for this project.

Sorry to make a mess of my posts right off the bat, but I'm going to post my JD-2 modeling progress to the CnC and Printing forum. Seems better than burying it in the introductions.

And yes, @CarleeSchamberger , the first thing I did was section off the cockpit and hollow the fuselage. I haven't put the reinforcing structure inside or a floor to attach stuff yet, though. (pics in my first post over there) Cockpit willl snap in or have magnets or something.

This delta project turned into the main reason I'm here (*for now*). But now I have this thread, a thread in workbench/3d printing, and a resources page. Also, I'm thinking it all should have gone into scratch build, but it isn't an original design, per se... I just feel like a forum noob, in general. Excessive cross-linking is usually frowned upon, so I'm going to leave it as-is. amidoinitrite?
