My first rc airplane

Hi everybody, This is my first ever rc airplane and I just wanted to know a few things. It is the tiny trainer I want to build and I have already found some electronic I just dont know if they would work.
I could not find the motor FT recommended so i found another one. I think it is a drone motor but maybe you guys can tell me if it would work with this prop?
I did find a battery very similar to the one they suggest, the only difference is that it has a xt60 plug instead of a xt30u. What is the difference and will it work?
Also I dont know what a y-lead and linkage stopper is?

Yes the motor and prop you linked will work fine.

An xt60 connector is rated for up to 60 amps vs the xt30 that is rated for up to 30 amps. It is fine to use the larger connector even if you don't need the extra capacity.

The plane will fly better with the smaller 850mah battery because it will be lighter.

This is a linkage stopper, used to connect a push rod to a control horn, either a control surface or on a servo.
This is a servo Y harness, used to make 2 servos do the same thing from a single radio channel
This is a power lead Y harness, this one, used to supply 2 ESC's from 1 battery.

You needn't stress about an xt60 over an xt30u. It isn't the end of the world if you use either, just remember not to push too mamy amps through them.

Linkage stoppers are not a nessecety, but they make connecting pushrods and servos a lot easier. Instead of buying them, you can just do what everyone without linkage stoppers does: measure the exact length of the pushrod that you need, then make a 90° bend in the wire to one side, then another that is parralel to the pushrod, slide it into the servo arm, then glue the arm to the plane. Both get the job done perfectly fine, but it's your choice on which one you want to do.

The motor that you have suggested will work perfectly fine, but you need to be mindful with the prop. If the motor and brand is reputable (a useful word for hobbyists), then it will tell you which prop and which pitch of prop runs most efficiently with that motor. You must also be mindful about changing batteries, because the higher cell count that you go, the more amps the motor consumes, and so you must use a smaller diamater prop. There is an entire beginner series that covers everything you need to know on the Flite Test channel. Make sure to watch it a couple times because there is a lot of useful info there.

You would probably be best off getting the bundle kit. https://store.flitetest.com/ft-mighty-mini-tiny-trainer-mkr2-value-bundle/
It will come with all the electronics/bits and bobs you will need minus the battery, charger and radio system.

As far as those go for you just getting into the hobby it best not to get too involved before knowing you like it. These things rack up really fast. Here are my picks for those items:

One thing to definately do whenever you get a speed build kit, is to ALWAYS trace them out onto something that you can use as stencils later, especially id you are new. There will always be crashes, tears and throwing away the entire model just because a small little piece of the horizontal stab fell off. It would be a lot easier to trace out that part and replace it on the plane instead of buying another 300$ airplane. So it makes sense to trace the speed build kit out before building.
