Is there a list that will tell me what is required of me legally to fly an r/c plane. Like do i need to register with the FFA?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the ever more regulated hobby of small, unmanned, harmless (mostly) aircraft!
The FAA registration is the only legal requirement that I'm specifically aware of. That being said, there are a lot of flying clubs out there that add legitimacy to the hobby and most all of them require membership in the AMA.
