New to the game of Rotors

I have been fly electric planes for about 1 year on and off but have been looking at quads for about a month now and have been thinking of making a DJI f450. I would like to eventually go fpv. im amazed by some of the aerial videos Ive seen.
So here are my questions. (UK Shops only please as from the UK)
Ive been looking at getting esc flashed with simonK firmware but theirs many out their im stuck for choice What do you recommend? What are you using?
For the motors i prob just stick with the stock DJI Motors?

I'm also going to use a kk2.0 board.
Is this a good board for a beginner??
What do some of the setting mean do on the kk2 board pi gain etc?

Ive seen some other boards out their with Gps (mwc / DIY Remzibi Etc) . Do they support return to home and position hold like the DJI Naza.

I'm a real newbie when it come to this so go easy.

It's apparently (don't have it yet) a great board for a beginner, with wonderful features for a low price, but protect it from direct hits as the screen can break.

I've had three budget boards now and the KK2 is a significant margin above all others in the sub-$30 range IMHO for ease of use compared to the performance achieved. You really can't go wrong with it. But now that it's early summer everyone has the fever and the KK2 is hard to get.
