Bullets for the motor wiring arrived yesterday and annoyingly, I bought the wrong size. Got 3mm, needed 3.5mm.
Another order placed.
I can't finish the nose until I have these bullets...delays, delays!!!
Uh huh... :unsure:
I suspect you are just sandbagging until all of us get ours painted... :p
(That is one really sweet scoop I have to admit!)

What powertrain (prop, motor, esc, bec, batt) were you using? If everything came in at a reasonable temp, I'd like to duplicate it.
Okay, since you and @mayan asked (his Maiden video is up BTW.) here we go;

Motor;
Sunnysky 2216-8 1250Kv
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32456975952.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.3a994c4delFi5H
Foam filling optional. :p

Prop;
9x6 3-Blade
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32810160030.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.3a994c4dM9bt2e
(I have "issues"... (brief pause) with 2 blade props on warbirds that "should" have 3 or 4 blade... :LOL:)

Spinner;
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32866135438.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.3a994c4dukdzsv
Another "must have"...

ESC;
One of my "upgraded" 30A $4 ESCs.
I basically take one of these;
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32700887789.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.3a994c4d4jP6mf
(and I have noticed the quality of these "branded" ESCs are better than the no label brand.)

Remove the line from the BEC (which IMHO cause 99% of the heat issues with these ESCs) and replace it with one of these;
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32646325986.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.3a994c4dWZPHWh
JUST be SURE to set the output voltage BEFORE you connect anything to it... (I lost a servo tester to this mistake...)

Although it would be a lot easier to just use one of these (but I'm working on the cheap here.)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32920672534.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.3a994c4dsorYXw

Battery;
Kylin 2200mAh 3 cell 25C
It's one of the first battery packs I bought (I have 2). Before I knew NOT to store Lipos at full charge... so they sometimes have a bit of sag to them.

But I use them for Maidens... in case (you know...) something goes horribly wrong. Like my recent wing "adventure..."

I've sliced a chunk off the base of the scoop, the general shape is good but looking at source pictures showed it to be way too thick.

Basecoat for the scoop done, exhausts are ready to be fitted.
Made and fitted a battery tray this evening.
This is tantalising close.

Don't you like wings? What a horrible thing to do to a poor wing!!! 😉

@kilroy07 - if you use my version and print them base up - they print fine and the support material pops out the side
I thought you were just sharing them with @CarolineTyler ... :p
Besides, I already stole them. ;)
Hey I didn't see a post for the fairings.

I'm going to show my Edge some love tonight, but I've got this much ready.
IMG_9460.JPG
I'm going to try the light weight filler to see if I can lessen the ridge at the posterboard.

Thanks kilroy. I've already got those motors on order, though I went with the 1100kv. I've got 8x6 props coming in tomorrow. I'll get some 9x6 on order. I'm sticking with two-blade simply because I'm afraid to belly land a triblade. I figure at the currently level of my landing skills, even a successful landing would cost me a prop.

I like your esc choice. That's pretty hard to beat. HobbyKing has a 5amp bec for like six bucks that I've been using. It's a little easier for me solder in than a bare board would be.

As for the most important part, the spinner?

That's a gemfan 9x45 on it that I was hoping to try today. Somebody called for a darn hurricane just South of us and it ruined those plans. We won't get the worst of it until tomorrow, but the wind sure was whipping out there, today!

Your scoop is an awesome touch. I'm curious though. Since you 3d printed the exhaust, why not the scoop?

Spoiler :). Yeah it's up just been playing around with my DGA-6 build so didn't find time to write up about it :). But since you are subscribed to my channel you got to know about it before every one else :). So with a lot of honor I present to you my maiden, enjoy :).

Nice maiden mayan! You flew it like it was not trouble at all. Ya'll are making me feel unskilled! Just a nice clean maiden with a decent landing. You can't ask for much better than that! :)

Smooth maiden buddy. You are a good pilot. The animal in me would have liked to have seen you put the coals to it but a good flight nonetheless. Great job buddy. Just subscribed to your channel (y)
