The Bronco twin - trouble getting motors to spin same speed

Try as I may, I can't get the motors to spin even close to the same speed. One of the ESC's I received with the kit certainly seemed suspect, as it was completely unwilling to even start spinning until I had the control at about 50%, and it would then lurch into action. I bought another matching ESC and things got better, but the two motors still spin at distinctly different speeds for the same throw of the throttle.

Any thoughts here?

I've not yet attached the power pods to the plane, so I'm still able to fiddle with all the wiring.

I figured a twin like this would give me plenty of power towards my goal of eventually adding a camera and flying POV, so I'd hate to loose this option.

I'm assuming you got the either the B or C twin power pack and you've connected the ESCs to a Y cable and then to the Rx (and disconnected one of the ESC red wires) and they are running off one battery on a Y cable. The next step is to calibrate the ESCs the same way you would for a single - that's an easy step to forget.
  • Props off
  • Battery unplugged
  • Tx on and throttle all the way up
  • Plug in battery & wait for beeps
  • Lower throttle to minimum
Now if the ESCs and motors are good they should start and spin in sync

Hmmm another 20 years of slow simmering wife that was proven wrong against a new plane? Umm, nope. Rather just piss her off and buy the new plane, that lasts a far shorter time. Would save the certificate, just because.

Happy wife, happy life
