Motor - Hobbyking 5g, 2000kv outrunner with a 5x3 prop
ESC/Rx - Spektrum brushless ESC/Rx brick
Servos - Spektrum linear servos (2)
Pushrods - 0.030" Piano wire

How easily would this scale up to a 30" span?

Very well. It's drawn for 3mm depron, scaling it up to 30" span would mean all the parts would be figured for 5mm material. Foam board is about 4.5mm, so you wouldn't have to make many adjustments.

I really like the idea.... What's the flight experience like??

It flies quite slow but is light on the sticks. It is very manueverable and do some very tight acrobatics.
