Unofficial New FliteTest Firewall for the new Zero

This is measured for the zero. The corsair had a larger diameter!

Feel like I may be jumping the gun here, since the scratch build plans won't be released for awhile, But I traced out the kit plans for a Zero my father was building over Christmas eve to make my own and mocked up a 3d printable firewall design.

This may be a bit of a rough measurement and the one I'm using needed some editing that I put into the final designs here, so the picture I have doesn't do it justice... but if anyone else winds up tracing the kits to make a spare plane here's the unofficial firewall being used!

I should add as he stated, although the old motor pods work in these planes you'll need to cut them short to fit the battery's in the plane too!

So on your thingiverse post you said the old motor pods still work??? Is that correct? Like no mods needed?

Yes both still have a square opening in the center for the standard mini motor pod. The new design just allows more airflow through the plane.

Technically you can FIT the standard motor pod in the nose of these new warbirds. But then you wouldn't be able to put a battery in because they occupy the same space. The new firewall design was intended to create a nice battery space in the nose specifically by eliminating the old power pod design.

I've added a thingiverse design for the new mini Corsair firewall, including a spinner and a variant that has a mock radial engine built in.

Cool I was thinking of modeling some details for the corsair like a radial engine detail, guns in the wings and maybe landing gear!
