What Did You Fly Today

I still love Flite Test and plan on building the Guinea Pig this summer when it gets to hot to fly (Phoenix) but.. Eflite has just been hitting the long ball lately! Just added the magnificent A10 1.1m duel 64mm EDF to the hanger. She is locked in and a real honey. Can get all of these in my 2016 Malibu too taking the wings off the A10 and F16 which is super easy! The F16 is so much fun as well. Best part, the A10 uses the same 6S batteries as the F16 so I'm set with the 4 I have. Check out the A10 if production planes are your thing as well. You won't be disappointed!
If someone says 6s, I'm interested!

I love E-flite aircraft. They just fly so good! Last one I had was a Valiant. Now @The Hangar is fixing it up.

Yea, a buddy had that one. What a great little trainer. Funny story... was flying my FT cub and he hit me mid air and knocked my control rod off an aileron. I saved the landing using rudder. Didn't hurt his Valiant at all. Pretty funny! He got his first air kill lol.
They went above and beyond on the new A10. Worth every penny. I don't like how close the connected the 5a BEC to the EC5 connector but that's a simple extension cable fix. Smoothest foam I've ever seen...besides foam board of course. The scale detail rivals Freewing but a couple hundred bucks less! Couldn't fit their 1.5m in my car anyway lol.

I flew billions and billions and billions of blades of grass. AKA mowed the flying field. There were two flyers out at the field keeping their distance as well.

I got decent weather and time to fly a bit today. I took out the Hawk Moth with the trim and CG damn near perfect and did a battery duration test flight(8 minutes 30 seconds before running out fully) and put it through the paces as far as handling. This plane handles so smoothly now and the duration/efficiency are acceptable, even pretty decent, with nothing being warm or hot on landing.

Packed up ‘The Phoenix’ motor glider today. Arrived at the usually abandoned club field & found “Recreation Area Closed” signs at the gate. I forgot that the field is contracted from some government agency land, don’t know which agency. Recreation in the great outdoors is now all locked up, one of the few things we could do safely was go out in the woods & fields where nobody was close to anybody else.
I called about an alternate field I occasionally use on a Native American reservation land, nope, even though I have permission it’s closed to all activities Along with their casino.
I thought about calling ranchers I know that might have a large field with no livestock on it but came up empty on that idea. Maybe I can study Google Maps for a big open field with no livestock.
Back home now. Guess I’ll be building the ’War Baby’ Simple Cub today, just one more RC model that I won’t be able to fly till this virus is defeated. I guess that’s better than laying on the couch watching TV & eating ice cream out of the container.

Figure9: Here is the same, our governor just ordered a complete shutdown for state and municipal parks. Even though my state has the second highest confirmed cases and casualties, but most of the cases were in the North Jersey next to NYC. In South Jersey there are a lot of open land and fields that now have a sign "Close to Public"... In the news that there was a guy got arrested by fishing at a national park with nobody around him. So I don't want to get into trouble by flying RC. I have run out of foam boards, no laser color printer at home to print plans , so watching other people flying will be my main venue to enjoy this hobby at this moment.
To those who still can go out and fly, enjoy and post as many videos as possible!

Flew online with RealFlight the other night in an impromptu demo/competition. Totally blew it by cratering on my first inverted pass. Should have been running low rates for the model we were all using. Still had a great time watching the others as there were some super talented people online too. I'll update this post later if I find the youtube of it.

Cheers!

Great flying and planes! I would check the soldering points of the banana plugs on ESC and motor. And check if there is a sharp band on three leads from your ESC to motor.
