My (not quite finished) Sopwith Pup has the battery mounted vertically on the back of the firewall. Makes a difference. Not sure who I stole the idea from - possibly Josh Orchard? Anyway - on a plane like this it’s a good idea!

I mounted a battery vertically to save space. You might've got it from me?

That's good to know. How are you securing the battery?

A piece of Velcro at the top of the firewall, and a Velcro strap at the bottom. The first photo in post number 70 in the build thread below shows it before the firewall was mounted.

Didn't that last 5 months go by fast!. I haven't forgotten about this project but must admit had taken a long break working on other builds including @SP0NZ 's Foam Board Wonder and Scout XL which I really enjoyed. I do feel bad as I owe Sam at the https://www.thehangarrc.com some updated build information that allows the battery to be mounted vertically and avoid so much ballast in the nose. Well I finally got around to it and here is the modified fuse core. There is no longer a power pod. The 3d printed firewall is glued into the front 3 formers and this leaves space directly behind the firewall/formers to mount the battery.
