Hi,
today my 1hour build will be "automatic elevator".
You can use it for smoother turns without dropping your plane too mutch (thats the theory )

make your rudder with smooth moveing parts
2013-06-26-173620.jpg
be sure that also your elevator has also smooth moving parts

take some wire

bend it

put the wire between the rudder and the elevator

take a string and put the string trough the wire

2013-06-26-180648.jpg
one end of the string glue on the rudder and the other end of the string glue on the elevator
if you would glue the string on the elevator to the text ,,less,, you will get more elevation and when you glue the string to the text ,,more,, you will get less elevation

Now some photos of the build and so......

Sweet, I never thought of making that!! (As in automatic control surfaces without a mix)
The same principle could be done with elevator and ailerons, but you would have to guide the string to the side of the fuse, then back to the top of the elevator.
Great idea!

It looks like it would work but what happens when the rudder is straight? Seems like the elevator would flop around??

Servo, I think it would function as a normal elevator with some modification, but it is not my build so...

I see a couple inherent problems... First off, what happens if you want down elevator in a turn? Second, of the Elevator is driven by a seperate servo, that little string likely won't be enough to overcome the strength of the servo... If there is no servo on the elevator, how would the elevator work at all?
