Whit is this your P-40 build?
No, Bf-109, but you can see the P-40 in the background over there.
Looks great!Scratch built a dr1
Still need to do the hinges and linkages. But she will be ready to maiden soon. Then a final weathering paint pass and guns.
Great story. Your builds look amazing, he is going to love it. I hope your Christmas wish comes true and this is the beginning of some very special memories.I put a couple Min Scouts together tonight for me and my grandson. This will be his first 3 channel "real" plane. His Christmas present will be the white/white Mini Scout and a FSi6X radio. He's been flying the FT EZ Freighter and he loves it. Hopefully this keeps him learning and interested in flying. He hasn't shown much interest in building, but I enjoy building enough to keep us both crashi... er, flying!

Hi all! I would like to share the construction of my first model Mustang R51 master series. I ordered a sunsky 2216 3 series 1250 kv engine, propellers 9 * 6 and 10 * 5, esc 40A and a battery for 2200 3S. I would like to know your opinion about the setting. Currently, after painting, the weight of the model without engine and battery is 465 grams.
Modifying my 2020 small flying wing now. It won’t be so lightweight anymore, but I hope it will be more capable, versatile and durable. View attachment 232405 View attachment 232406 View attachment 232407
Very nicely done. You talk like you're new but you build like you've been doing it for five years already! The set up seems all about right. The weight is looking good for a plane of what I guess that size to be and a 1250kv motor should just about manage a 9x6 - I would throttle it up on the test bench and see how warm the motor gets; too hot to touch for more than a second is too hot to run. If it does get too hot, the cheaper option is a smaller prop, but I like big props so I would get a 1000kv motor - your 40A ESC is ideal for that.
It’s not only foam, but balsa wood and fibreglass (this weird colour was caused by the epoxy hardener). Looks very scary, but surface is very smooth.
The Quickie is almost complete , other things going on. Nice set of plans , yep CG is about same on mine. Really like that set of plans you have. How is the Rutan coming along? I thought I recall some question on the CG, maybe confused with another. Anyway, stumbled across another model of a racer version. CG shown if needed. I wouldn't mind making a Foam Board version. thathttp://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=11273
