Our first dumping of snow for the season bought out a new task...
EZ Snow Skimmer!
View attachment 241106 View attachment 241107

Made from an old used food tray, and a canopy from a Sharpie's packaging.

On very soft and fluffy snow it took a bit to get going, but on anything compact, it zipped around like a kid on a Halloween candy sugar rush.

Below is the very fluffy snow component:

Do you have the new 2 chan E Z power pack V2? or the old system with the small motors?

I have both. The snow skimmer was made with the old V1 pack, though. If I end up designing a foam board version, I might throw the V2 pack on. Or maybe I'll swap out the current model with the v2 sometime to see how they perform...

The question is, If you swap the V2 motors into the V1 board, will it function or damage the V1 board? No one seems to know that answer.

Yes, you can swap between v1, and v2.
Eddie (FT Support) says it is ok.
I've actually thrown some 8520 motors onto the V1 board and have them currently on my EZ Sparrow. No hassles with the board and the motors make the bird a loooooooooot more powerful and faster than the original motors. $13 CAD well spent, there...

Nice! What prop are you using in the pics?
Those are Gemfan 16pcs 40mm 3-Blade Props, but they're actually only good for really small models. I tried them on the Hornet and my UnEZ Bronco and got nowhere. They work with this model and I kept them on because I like the yellow :)

I have had great success with Gemfan Hurricane 2015 Props 2-Blades PC Props, though.

Apologies in advance to Peter Sripol, but I have started on the jet powered OV-10 Bronco. Maybe should also apologize to North American Rockwell who made the original plane. I've always liked the Bronco and have one I take to the field regularly but two 50 mm edfs have been sitting on the shelf looking for a home so decided the Bronco would be a cool project. The edfs are mounted in 3d printed frames from a snow boat that I built a few years ago. I will trim the objects from the rear upon which the rudder was mounted. My plan is to mount them under the wing as they are too wide too fit in the nacelles of the Bronco. Should be a hoot and might even fly.

I've almost assembled the glider. The weight is 348 grams. I will also install 2 servomechanisms on the elevator, then I will select the engine and regulator. I will pick up the battery at the very end.Tomorrow I will make a blue lantern, I previously bought and drank 3 bottles of mineral water..Next week I plan to cover the model with colored tape with an iron. I liked the coloring of the model of the respected MJSantito. I glue for a long time -I use a glue analog of UHU POR.

Bronco EDF continues:

Never liked glueing a motor to a foam wing so I printed 4 plates, 2 inside the wing and 2 outside screwed through the wing. The motors are super glued and then screwed to the outer plate.

Really looking forward for the flight. Designed and played with the YC-14 and blown flaps. Should go like a rocket.
