Hey guys! This will be a thread dedicated to my first FPV 250 quad build. Flight test is awsome, and i am looking forward to going through this process with you guys.

Excluding an old Syma X1 toy that I totaled a few weeks ago, this will be my first quadcopter, so wish me luck.
I have ordered and recieved a Turnigy i6 transmitter from hobbyking (with pre-bound reciever). I also ordered a Banggood ARF mini quad kit that *claims* to be a qav250, not sure if that is real but anyway.

www.banggood.com/QAV250-Carbon-Fiber-ARF-Combo-EMAX-MT2204-12A-ESC-CC3D-p-965217.html

This includes:
1 x QAV 250 Carbon Fiber Frame Kit
1 x CC3D Flight Controller
4 x Emax MT2204 KV2300 Motor(2 CW and 2 CCW)
4 x Emax Simon K 12A ESC
4 x Gemfan 6030 Propeller
1 x B3 Charger
1 x 11.1V 25C 2200 Battery
1 x Spare Pack

I'm excited! I hope to eventually also get a quanum FPV set and a couple batteries, but after i get the quad (hopefully) off the ground, we'll see how my bank account looks

That looks to be pretty much the same setup I just got. It's all kinds of fun! Just remember to leave the motor wires factory length and us the pre-tinned ends. The wire is lacquer coated and poses some tinning problems if you cut it shorter.

Yes, that is the well known Emax Night Hawk 250 frame, but don't worry because a lot of others use that frame and like it as CodeMonkey says.

congrats, least you wont have to upgrade the motors from 1806s anytime soon.
chris.

Hey, i can't find very clear documentation on this, but could these motors take a 4s battery, or would i have to upgrade both ESCs and motors?

At least it was free shipping... Hobbyking makes you pay a fortune for a ticket on the slow boat.

for 6" props i went ahead and bought 50 bucks worth of gemfans 6x3.. most guys on here do not like them. but they are more skilled pilots.. im a noob so im very happy at how well they take abuse at this point.

most guys on here like the HQ brand of props.

as for batterys. im quite happy with the turnigy nano 1.3 or 3s 1300 size battery.
these are the ones im using 3s nano tech 1300 25c-50C.
http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__11903__Turnigy_nano_tech_1300mah_3S_25_50C_Lipo_Pack.html

most on here recommend the higher C rating battery tho..

the problem is they are never in stock it seems. and as im learning to fly so lots of hovering. the 25C - 50C will work.. from what i understand the higher C rating really shows when you are full throttle all the time. when you are practicing hovering its not gonna matter it would seem.

Well, to be technical, I had ordered it 9 days earlier, after I canceled a backorder for an FPV250 Hobbyking quad...
But yeah :)

Okay, so I'm beginning frame assembly.
Put ESCs in the bottom plate before or after bolting them to the main plate?

i would personally assemble the frame so you know what you are working with ( then disassemble etc ). i do not know if you would have enough space for the ESC on the inside of the frame or not. i bought a 12mm riser kit for my ZMR frame so i could of put them there if i had not already plan to just zip tie the ESC to the arms.

Umm....
my screws don't fit in the bottom plate (they are the right size, and they fit through the main and arm...)

put the bottom and top plate together, flip them till they line up.. their maybe a up and down position.
you maybe need to use a needle file and file the holes while both plates are stacked on top of each other.

you will want to sand the edges etc anyhow.

Yes just double check that you didn't line anything up wrong. Then go ahead and remove some material. As RCModelReviews sometimes points out, the cheaper Chinese frames may have been cut out with worn out tooling resulting in incorrect hole dimensions. Also remember that if you do drill/file/sand the frame or hole wear a dust mask because the carbon dust is dangerous to inhale.
