An excellant project for Flitest to use for STEM high school or to show viewers how its done. If you use Estes rockets where all that data for thrust,length of burn, weight of missle(plane), it will tell you the approximate height. CG even changes as rocket burns. Lot of head scratching goes on to resolve issues.
Rocket plane (X-1) can be fired on school yard if needed.
Here is my first attempt where I designed my Bell-X1 and actually move the controls on upward flight after it launched as you can see. Estimated it went 400 ft using a D rocket. Was going to launch it from my transport so it would fly down in front of you, pull nose up and then fire the rocket and let it climb. Got off track trying other projects.
