Bush plane build challenge

Join me in trying to build the best FT style bush plane!

The contest will consist of 3 challenges:

1.) PAYLOAD
A good bush plane must have a useful payload when hauling supplies into remote areas. Contestants will compete to see who's design has the highest payload-to-weight ratio. EDIT: The aircraft must have a proven flight before the weight is added to count as the "official weigh in" before adding the "payload" weight To attempt this challenge the competitor must first weigh his craft in full flying trim and then add as much weight as he can to the plane and still complete an un assisted take off, complete pattern, and land again in the same area.

2.)Durability
Any back country plane must be durable and the pilot skilled. For this challenge each contestant must attempt the most take offs and landings he can without having to touch the plane. The pilot will do as many circuits as he can before he crashes, the plane is damaged, or the battery depletes. EDIT: Pilot must land, then execute at least a 180 degree turn, then take off. If you have calm enough weather to take off in the opposite direction you landed, fine. If you have a bit of a breeze, a full 360 may be required. Dealer choice.

3.)STOL exhibition
The STOL ability of both pilot and machine are critical for a successful back country mission. In this challenge the pilot must find the most creative and challenging place to land and take off again. The twist here will be that the winner will be determined by vote from the pilots and the audience. Because this event is judged it would behoove the pilot to push his skills and the design of his machine to the limit. Even a spectacular fail, if entertaining enough, could win the judges favor.

Rules:
  • - Each pilot is to post a short video of his craft completing each challenge to be considered.
  • -Any FT style home built craft is welcome and individual threads of the build process are encouraged but not required. The craft can also be one that has been previously constructed, does not need to be built solely for this challenge. No size limits, no motor restrictions.
  • Contestants can build and enter multiple planes
  • Have Fun!
The prize for first place will be a flight test "C pack" that i will supply.
If anyone else has any goodies they would like to donate as 2nd or 3rd place prizes just let me know.

The challenge will conclude Thanksgiving day!
Judging will be held for 72hrs uppon conclusion of the contest.

Good luck!

Additional Info
Rule Amendments:
  • The aircraft must have a proven flight before the weight is added to count as the "official weigh in" before adding the "payload" weight
  • Pilot must land, then execute at least a 180 degree turn, then take off. If you have calm enough weather to take off in the opposite direction you landed, fine. If you have a bit of a breeze, a full 360 may be required. Dealer choice.
  • The Craft must fly each portion of the challenges in the same configuration. IE, no switching to a different prop or wing profile for different stages of the competition. Batteries are excluded from this exemption, any different battery can be used at any stage of the challenge.
If you have any suggestions to the rules, voice them now. By Close of Business tomorrow (24 Sept, 2020) all amendments will be final. Rules will stand as is. If you can find and exploit a loophole, more power to ya! Alls fair in Love and War boys! ;)

I'll try to participate in this, but i've been busy lately and I have another project (shameless plug) going right now, so no promises. One question, though. Is this sticking to the c-pack motor proposal or can we use any motor we want?
I am in for sure, as we may have seen from the recently over cooked hi-jacking of @Yusernaym Super STOL thread, and in Canadian fashion i do apologize sir.

Now as per the first post stating the rules, which are more then fair, the best part is what is not stated. This leaves a bunch of possibilities open, (and all these saved for later posts arent counted as posts for rules after the fact). So as in the nature of most bush planes, I will consider the entries categorized as "Experimental Aircraft". What ever it takes will be the name of the game.

I have a feeling i will be building a couple practice models before the entries are due just to get the technique down. I would even do this barring the prizes so when you start with nothing you have nothing to lose. Good luck to all the contestants.

Exactly! I was hoping to keep it simple enough to get a couple wild and crazy planes in the mix.

Multiple entries are more than welcome!

And of course, special thanks to @Yusernaym for the hijacking of his thread to kick start the competition! lol

@Yusernaym I'll go ahead and throw you on the board just in case you make it, heck, throw some gear on the stiletto and run her! lol remember, the payload part of the challenge is not how much but how much in relation to your airframe. ;)
