Maidened my Small Spirit yesterday. However, I "forgot" to secure the battery. Truthfully, I knew it wasn't secured and I convinced myself it would be fine. It was not.
I pulled the wing off this weekend, and gave it a more thorough exam. The carbon spar molded into each half of the wing is shattered on one side, and possibly on the other. The way the wing is designed, I'm not sure the spar could be easily removed and replaced. The fuselage appears repairable. The tail break is fairly clean (currently have it just taped back together to keep it from flopping around). It might have done some damage to the rudder servo when it snapped and flopped around. The servo still works, but it sounds rough. There is a bit of creasing on the side of the nose, which should be able to be corrected with a little warming to relax the foam and restore it to its original shape. Battery hatch cover lost its latch, but that can be taken care of with a little bit of Velcro. Not sure what happened. Flying along fine, and then she's suddenly nose down and heading for the mesquite trees.
Other club members say there's something about that area near the flying field, as several planes have gone down there under mysterious circumstances. I also find it more than a bit coincidental that I was using the same battery as was in my Cherokee when it went down (though that was due to my own error).
I need to evaluate if this is going to be repairable, or if I should salvage the electronics and any other usable parts, and just build up something new.

I have this happen to me all the time I just glue it and throw some tape on it and I'm good to goThought I’d share one from today just to show that I still do crash hard. Flying the TT today I broke the tail section to a point that the only thing holding it attached is the push rods and control horns .

It takes some serious skill to successfully land a plane without touching the ground. Well done!I never crash, I just want to show off this pic of a perfect landing from yesterday:

If it doesn't touch the ground it doesn't count as a crash. Those weeds are the reason my planes are still alive with only minimal repairs. It takes some serious skill to successfully land a plane without touching the ground. Well done!
Wow! Happy to hear, congrats!I have finally stopped crashing my Tiny Trainer! I got my thrust angle problem fixed and used the glider nose to teach myself to sorta fly By chucking the plane around and controlling it. I call it the glider game. It's very useful, and the glider nose held up really well. The plane nose dived at least 20 times and it held up well. If you're learning to fly, definitely recommend the glider game. Anyway I put the power nose on there and flew a beautiful maiden last night! I tell you that thing really is relaxing, compared to the Long EZ. I'm happy I have a plane to fly now!
Does this count as a touch and go?If it doesn't touch the ground it doesn't count as a crash. Those weeds are the reason my planes are still alive with only minimal repairs.
me tootoday I have overcome
fortunately I see that I am not alone
I will continue with the FT FLYER I have given him several blows and I have not yet had to rebuild it
It bothers me because everyone talks about TT and I have not managed to keep it in the air for more than 5 minutes
