Cowling is built, it wasn’t bad, it went together quickly and easily I also started on top wing mounts.

The top wing will have one bolt each side to keep them in place. I mounted a aluminum tabs to the center section on the bottom that will stay with the center section.

Looking good. Pretty much exactly how I did my Fokker cowl. Is the plan to have this ready for next weekend at Edgewater?

That was the plan, but I don't know if it will be done. I will have it there just don't know if I will get to fly it. I might work on it some there and try to get a maiden on it over the weekend, i know it wont be painted yet but I guess time will tell.

Ok a lot to go over with the build, I have been struggling between getting everything ready for wings over edgewater as far as camper, it was time for new tires for my truck… and stuff like that as well as finding time to build. Well my goal at this point is to get all the major building done and then be able to rig and install equipment at edgewater.
So…. I have the top center section sheeted and got it aligned I worked on getting the wheels put together and I also fitted the tail assembly. Once all that was done I did the first complete test fit to make sure things plugged in and somewhat work…

I didn’t get a lot of pictures due to me trying to speed the build up, I got the ailerons started and got the tail feathers glued together and I ended the weekend with sheeting the tops of the wings…

Ok here are the last of the build pictures and for those that where at wings over edgewater, you seen the outcome… I will have to do a small amount of modifications but I think we are ready for paint

Here is a little update… it’s painted white, it has 20% more vertical stabilizer and I moved the motor out about 2 inches. I got to fly with a group of ww1 guys and it was a blast… I even did a few wing overs and rolls. Hopefully this coming week I will get more paint on it and start to make it look more and more like the finished product.

I'm going to assume from the lack of details that the increase in vertical surface area helped as well as the change in the motor placement. ;P The cowl is new too and it really does look the part. I hope it's much less of a handful now.

The vertical fin was night and day! it took all of the washing back and forth out of it like it was doing. moving the motor out defiantly gave me better power, I also ended up going to a standard falcon "3d" prop that was inch bigger and that made a world of difference in itself. Next thing besides the paint is going to be moving the rx pack out into the cowling for some more nose weight.

ok here are a few pictures to get it to flite fest.... it was a short but hard road to get it to flite fest, even thought its still not done and has more to go, it at least looks the part of a WW1 plane....
