It would take me a lot longer to get there than 11 hours lol. Just to tell them face to face that they have ruined the concept of Flite test, which was a big inspiration to a lot of people.
They legit inspired me to finally get in the air. I'd always wanted to; back in the late 1990s when 7yo me was big into N-scale trains I walked into a Hobbytown USA and saw a nitro 40-size trainer hanging off the cieling right above the foyer. Knew from that instant I needed one. Got one in the late 2000s but it hung on the wall for a decade or so because every time I had gotten an agreement to buddybox set up the other guy backed out(Though the first guy helped me set it up and even gave me a 46AX totally for free so much kudos to the guy. I stumbled into FT shortly after the Edgewater crowdfund ended and it gave me the drive to finally get in the air; grabbed a Spear, a couple of Cox 049s, combined the two, also built a Cox 049 powered mini Sportster. Took them and the NexSTAR to Peeler one day, had zero luck with the foamboard ships but the NexSTAR took to the skies under the on-the-spot tutelage of another flier. Rest is history; my second time down I solo'd and I've been loving it since. It would take me a lot longer to get there than 11 hours lol. Just to tell them face to face that they have ruined the concept of Flite test, which was a big inspiration to a lot of people.
NGL I'm genuinely tempted to get the FT Balsa Basics cub and slap my Enya 09 onto the front. But it's 3ch only and adding ailerons isn't the easiest thing in the world on a balsa ship. 'spose I could split the elevator and set it up elevons/rudder; roll rate wouldn't be good but it'd have roll control that way.I feel inspired to build a scale Piper cub out of balsa with a four stroke as a power plant, but that inspiration will probably wear off by morning. Instead it will probably end up building a foamboard and fiberglass mash up replica with a 2 stroke nitro, sadly a couple of years to build a model these days feels like a long time now at my age.
They sell an ailerons add on kit for it now I believeNGL I'm genuinely tempted to get the FT Balsa Basics cub and slap my Enya 09 onto the front. Have you seen the Vintage model company they supply basic balsa kits ideal for a project like thatNGL I'm genuinely tempted to get the FT Balsa Basics cub and slap my Enya 09 onto the front. Oh perfect. It would be an excellent home for that engine and it's otherwise just sitting here collecting dust. They sell an ailerons add on kit for it now I believe

Maybe thats wasn't such a bad idea, if a post was started to choose 5 iconic planes that people want to see built. Then sponser the FT crew to buid them ?
Perfect idea.Hell yeah. I'll nominate the Super Kaos, Kirkland's Intruder, a PT-17 Stearman, finish the DC-3/C-47, and a Master Series F-86 Sabre.
My bix2 was my first store bought and sadly died of old age last month.I built a Golberg Electra (based on the gentle lady) back in the 80s with a brushed motor, I still have it but itsnow updated and runs a brushless.
I have an AXN floater from Hobby King love that for throwing around the sky, a Bixler 3 which somone gave me and has had more than its fair share of crashes but still flies great.
My latest buy is a Volantex Phoenix 2 meter V2, which is going to be my 2021 summer plane.
Now thats more like it I would love to see the posts of that being built.I’m working on a foam 1/4scale super cub
I actually wanted a Bix 2, the Bix 3 wasn't my first choice it was given to me so couldn't refuse it.My bix2 was my first store bought and sadly died of old age last month.
Don't need to glass it. I've flown an FT Commuter on a Cox 049 and I'd built half a dozen that never have flown for varying reasons. The foamboard doesn't much care about exhaust schmoo and even a raw fuel spill only delaminates the paper. Spray it with the same paints FT themselves use, give it 3-4 days to cure before you flash it up, and you're golden. Now thats more like it I would love to see the posts of that being built.
I have a few old plans in my collection and think the cub maybe one of them. Although a balsa version is probably a little long winded for me so i might build that hybrid I mentioned earlier foamboard and fiberglass so I can stick a nitro in it
There is a thread but don’t read it, @Timmy made some feet related comments. Now thats more like it I would love to see the posts of that being built.

It’s cool plane.but for the price I’d rather build a huge 767zView attachment 184498
This is my latest shop bought aquisition, looking forward to some soaring in summer
I normally paint with acrylic paint and varnish with a polyeurothane varnish, makes my models waterproof but not sure about fuel proof ?Don't need to glass it. Well, the brown stuff anyway. I haven't tested makerfoam yet.
Having watched the reviews it came out well as a thermal soarer, and when the price dropped to £93 for a PNP with free delivery I couldn't resist. It’s cool plane.but for the price I’d rather build a huge 767z
