PS: Anyone remember the sailplane guy who was flying 400' above a combat last year, then spiked the ground when prompted? I hope he got a prize for that.

I do! I was going to do a similar approach on my third combat last year only to have a mechanical failure put me into and make it impossible to recover from a high speed dive. Less than one minute in and lawn dart central. D'OH!

Mechanical Failure is my favorite ambiguous term. I had one of those at fest last year that would better have been described as the "tail falling off," but I'm not one to show off with technical jargon.
