Alright. What do I gotta do for that?

Not to get off the subject, but has anyone heard from Fred lately? I haven't seen anything from the illustrious FM in a while...

Pick a challenge appropriate to the time of year (there are plenty, or if you've got a neat idea . . . ) drum up interest, set rules, then let folks bend them (as long as it's in good spirits). Just make sure there's enough time and enough publicity -- I shoulda hit up FM to sticky this thread when it started -- might have had more participation.

From FB posts FM was busy this morning cleaning zombie carnage out of his woods. I'd bet he'll take a short breather, but I'd be surprised if you don't start seeing him around in the next few days.

I'm not opposed to a Santa build but how about a turkey lift like HK's beerlift? But we don't limit it to only multirotors. Planes are welcome as well. Turkey size doesn't win, most inventive wins. We should have a minimum size/weight for the bird but basically the airframe should be scratchbuilt which is typical for most muli's (no RTF multi's).

Santa build would give us more time though...

Or a Thanksgiving themed plane/multi build. Really make a turkey fly?

How about we do a general holiday theme build, and go to Christmas? Do Santa, turkey, dinner spread, christmas tree; whatever you want to do that says holiday.

I'm down as long as you don't call it a festivus compitition -- I Hate Seinfeld . . .

Wonder if we could convince chad to post a notification on the FB feed? Would likely get several creative entries from some new faces, if not some new onlookers/lurkers.

That might work. I was thinking in the "ask Chad" thread since I don't do much on the FB anymore. FB probably would get more response though. I'll start a new thread with the contest in it, will you get with Chad on FB?

I'm not friends with him anymore than you are ;)

might hit him up for it with the link in the "ask chad" thread and/or nudge FM . . . when he gets back.

Sorry, Dan. I just meant you are probably on FB more than I am, since I'm not. lol

I'll hit him up on the ask Chad and I guess we can have Fred work his magic if nothing else.

A sticky at the top of the thread is better than nothing, but a FB bump would be nice :)

I like this idea as it will allow us noobs to equally participate. I don't have any crash parts for a Frankenplane and all my flights to date resemble dropping a frozen turkey.

How do you think we came up with all those parts for the frankenplane ;)

The idea is always "the more the merrier", but you're right, it caught some of us short on "raw material".

If we do this again next year, might go for "salvaged parts and/or parts from different airframe designs", so someone could see how a spitfire fairs with a rescaled FT flyer wing . . . (I don't expect well, but the result *would* be entertaining).
