Yeah, so the entire reason I did the printable is because it really does make things MUCH easier. Granted, you do need the tool (printer) to do it. So, it's either a whole mess of tools and frustration or a printer... Now you know why I've never done it until now.

Hi All, I would really like to built the XL when the plans come out! I loved my regular sized one before it mated with a picnic table... I'm new to scratch builds, except for my FrankenFlier (Baby Blender with single wing), I think I can handle that, but I don't have a 3D printer. Can someone suggest how I can get a firewall for the build? The rest of the parts should be OK. Thanks!

Just cut out a ply firewall... Or use aluminium sheet...

There will be a template for cutting the firewall/control horns from plywood.

Many public libraries can 3D print anything if you provide them with the file(s). Maybe some of the guys you fly with have a 3D printer. Offer to buy them a roll of filament and the can print anyting without feeling put upon.

Nailed the landing gear wire. I'm using 5/32 wire because that's what I had on hand. Orchard used 1/8 and that seemed to work well too.
