Inkscape - Making Drawings and Skins

From Inkscape you can "Export PNG Image" which is a raster format file that most paint programs should be able to open.
Thanks! Saw a few more Inkscape tutorials and giving it another go. Mainly because I'm not sure if my other drawing programs will print tiled sheets accurately to scale.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of Inkscape. Here's my first attempt at a simple skin for a FT Sportster that I'm building. I'm working on the wing today!

I need to learn Inkscape and get off my Adobe habit. Do you guys know if Inkscape can open AI files?

Answering my own question: I looks like you can open an Adobe Illustrator file but it had to have been saved as a PDF compatible file when saving the AI. Otherwise Inkscape will not have a preview and the file will be uneditable. Well, at least that is what I have found so far. Moving on.
