This project had to stay on the shelf for awhile while life got in the way, but despite delays and lack of updates, I won’t give up! A question that came up:
Has anyone set their Mini Sea Duck with a flaperon configuration? I bought a y-cable to use for them, but since I’ll be using an r88, I’ll have extra channels and I’d be able to run extensions to get the aileron servos to be on independent channels. Does anyone recommend having flaps functionality for this plane?

Trying to put the c pack 2205 2300kv motors on. The wires have some heat shrink at the base of the motor preventing me from slotting it through the holes in the mini firewall. I can drill new holes in the firewall to get it to fit, but has anyone ran into this issue? Could I leave the wires running over the top and conceal it with the cowling? What did you do at this step?

Obligatory progress pic for asking so many questions. The video glosses over making the power pod. Can someone post a pic of theirs? I figure the position of the firewall is critical to the thrust angle, so I’m not sure f it should line up with the bottom part of the u on the firewall, or sit above it?

You can file/sand/nip/grind the hole to make it larger. Also, a hair dryer can make the insulation on the wires a little more flexible. Be careful to not melt anything of course.

Looking good!

For the powerpods, since this is a twin engine, there is no thrust angle built into the power pods, so don't need to worry about that. The pods should be same size of the firewall. If they are a bit off, I would do your best to either center it on the pod, or offset it to the bottom of the U. Either would be fine.
