I good tip when you start learning to fly .I built the FT flyer and tried to learn with it and personally did not have much luck with it. aka I crashed and broke my motor and fried the esc(twas very disheartening). It may work for some though. I had much better luck with the TT and then the scout.
If your plane starts heads to the ground and you know there is nothing you can do to stop it. Just shut down the motor, kill that throttle ASAP in most instances it will save your motor and ESC and only takes a fraction of a second to do.
I was taught this when learning and I passed it on to my son, it saved him from a few disasters while he was learning.
