Doing the same build now and the retracts seem to stick a bit. I thought I read somewhere about using a bit of grease to smooth them out, but can't find the article. Your build looks great. I'm using grey PLA as well. Will post after I finish. Waiting on paint for the camo and how to do the decals. What I've read about decal paper the results have been mixed so will probably go with Callie graphics.

The note about grease is at the bottom of the assembly drawing. They suggest to use bike grease.

Grease did very little to resolve the issue I was having. Trimming a few mm off of each side of the hammer did the trick. Just figured it out and both sides move with ease. Going to get moving on final assembly and paint.

Starting to think about the painting scheme. I am still not sure if I should paint it before flying. The numbers below are for Tamiya paints. XF is for airbrushing and AS are the small spray cans. I have the 3 XF paints but for the 2 grays it might be more economical to use the spay cans. Also as the PLA is gray I could say leave the underside unpainted.

Upper - Dark green (XF81/AS30) & Ocean gray (XF82/AS31), lower - Medium sea gray (X83/AS32)

I also purchased Chris Wolf's book as that looks like a great resource for painting and finishing scale models.

I got my copy from Amazon.
