yeah lol. i tried some more hops with the new battery and had a hard nose down landing and went under a parked car. the nose almost came off and it kinda looked like a concord droop snoot lol. easy fix though. I'm going to wait until i get the new motor to go out to the field and actually maiden it.
The hops are good practice! Waiting to hear how your maiden goes! Make sure you don't have tooo high throws or it will make it hard to control.

just did a maiden today at the field at my school

link to the footage:

didn't expect the wind catch it so much on that last turn and I didn't have enough pitch authority to recover lol

the damage isn't that bad though, the landing gear absorbed a lot of the impact and it was bent a lot. just have to glue on the motor mount back on and replace the prop.

just had my second flight yesterday. flew for about 17 minutes before the battery ran out of charge and I lost control and had a bad crash.

link to flight footage:

not too sure what happened. I think the battery ran out of charge and the servos stop running. when I got back home the battery had 11.1-11.2 volts left.

Looks like it flew well! Crazy seeing a plane with that much dihedral flying.👍😃

Hmm, maybe set your flight timer to 15 minutes

I was thinking something like that. do you know how I could set that up on my transmitter (flysky fs-16x)?

also is it normal for the controls to stop receiving power at the same time as the main motor when the battery gets too low? I've seen online that the motor should stop receiving power at a low enough voltage but still have the servos have enough power to function.

Normally would, unless your esc doesn’t have a low power cutoff.
