Update on the mylar tape as a covering.

I got the tape in the mail and I like it! I was able to cover 98% of the lower wing , I did not do the end cap of the wing yet because I have to finish the cabanes and mount them to the end of the wing. The tape is Shiny and the adhesive seems strong, doesn't seem to take a curve well but I expected that.

Here are the rolls I purchased.

Here are several shots of the wing covered.

It is going to look awesome!

Update! completed assembly

Well I have completed the build. Test flight coming soon. I am working a lot, so time to fly is limited right now. I was able to make aluminium ca-banes and I am really happy with the Mylar tape covering, I will have to look into some more of this tape as they have it in multiple colors and it covers really well with good adhesion.

Here she is!

I added a shot of the battery compartment and my "knob" to open it with!

Beautiful! do you plan on adding panel lines and rivet divots, or just leave it that way? I have always loved high speed planes with unconventional designs. (like the Bugatti 100p and SR-71)

Thanks!,

I was thinking about adding some kind of my own numerical designation like XA-101 or adding the "Experimental" label to it but nothing more than that.

I really want to just get it to the field and try to fly it right now but work and weather are prohibiting that, I get off work at 2:00 on saturday but the weather forcast is for PM rain. Sunday is my wife's birthday so YEA, not going to even try then.

AND Thank you all for the kind comments!

MAIDEN FLIGHT, MAIDEN FLIGHT, MAIDEN FLIGHT !

:applause:Here is what Ya'll Been waiting for!
First I apologize, my cameras suck! but not to disappoint I share what I got!
I was a nervous wreck, I was really concerned about the CG but WE nailed it! no elevator trim even needed!
Cg is at 3.5 inches behind the lower wing leading edge.
The video is from 2 cameras, 1st portion is my hat cam the second is from a friend using my regular Fuji camera. I talk over that portion of the video, If you watch it you'll find out why!

Wake up! Time to fly!
Sweet!!! I always liked that plane. It is one of the most unique ever designed in my opinion.

Ill bet you keep that thing pretty close though as it looks like it disappears quite quickly against a bright sky. Good job on the build and the planning since you did not need trim at all on the elevators and very little on ailerons and rudder. Hopefully I can get back to the Caudron build soon and do half as well for a maiden.

You Know it! The profile just disappears! It has the potential to be fast, I was only on 3s and never over 3/4 throttle and it was moving pretty good!

That is a lovely looking plane! I might have to throw this on my long list of projects to build, props my friend!
