I want to take a moment here and thank EVERYONE for their participation in this. We have SIX (6) qualifiers but I want to drive home that ALL of the designs are awesome. To that point...

ALL design participants will be eligible to participate in the races. Whether you have finished your design or not THERE IS STILL FUN TO BE HAD! Keep updating your threads and encourage others to use your designs for the races. There are some really wonderful designs and none should be excluded. In just three months we have an addition of 6 new heart-pumping designs that are begging for people to build, fly, crash, repeat.

The finalist post (#3) has been updated for you to look at all of the finalists. The judges have their instructions and Stephen (Rasterize) will be looking at the designs and builds. I've instructed Stephen to reach out to you if he has questions so make sure you are checking your notifications for PMs and such.

Finally, 2017 is here and its a great way to start the year with some great builds. Plans are out there so feel free to start your builds for the races. I will be working to finalize the rules for them in the coming days but there is no reason you cannot clear the build table and get going.

My 'pretty' version is starting to look like a plane now and the build documentation in the thread is coming along nicely. Just need to finish up the turtle decking and add some electronics :)

Not to late at all! You just missed out on phase 1 - the design contest.

Phase 2 - the actual race is at Flite Fest East - and you can enter the race with any plane design that was built in the design contest (i.e. Mid7night's racer that thing looks fast! or my Caudron for prettier but not as fast - or FAI-F1D's pretty and fast racer!), or enter with a new plane that you design according to the guidelines and join in the races.

We've still got a couple months after all - plenty of time to get something extra special up in the air :)

Or if you want to build the best looking aircraft, the build video will be out soon for the Super Solution. :D

Make my own you say? All I have to do is build a plane according the design contest rules? whats the timeline to do that?

Flite Fest East is July 13-16th - not sure which day in the schedule the official pylon race will be, but I'm sure we'll be racing informally until they kick us out, or the airframes are beyond repair :)

And I think a couple builders are likely to end up at Flite Fest West in late april - not sure if they are going to throw up some pylons, but it gets more likley if more racer design/builders are there :)

http://www.flitefest.com/ for more details on the 'fests - and if you haven't been to one yet, it's a 'must attend' gathering :)

Awesome! that gives me plenty of time. I was at FliteFest last year and had a blast. I've already got an itchy trigger finger waiting for the FliteFest east reservations to go on sale haha

I'll be one of those at FFWest, I'll have my SK3 and plan to fly it but I don't expect anything 'official' to happen. My ability to attend FFEast is tenuous, so I'd greatly appreciate anyone who wants to build/fly my design in my place. ;)

I'm still unsure about which FF I'll be attending. I'm pretty sure I can't make them both. Haven't been to a FF yet, so would like to go east but not sure that is feasible. If we can get something organized for FF west ( Golden age pylon racing ) I might go there. Anybody else planning on bringing a Golden age racer to FF west?

Not me. Planning to be at FF East. Started planning before it was over last year.
I realize lots of people talk about how great it is, but it really is. I'm sure FFWest will be the same way.

Aw ya gotta come to FFEast! I want to see that SK3 in person, and you sure know how to make it fly!

I want to go, trust me! But approving two relatively 'personal' trips with the War Dept., in one year, is a hard sell. I haven't given up yet. :)

I'm still waiting on one last set of numbers (you know who you are ;) )

Again, I am keeping those who are reviewing these projects anonymous. Further, the numbers are being tallied for each section and each section will be averaged to have a combined average for each subject. The results are therefore not an average of the total from each reviewer but an overall average. This is done to help remove a bit of human bias and subjective perspective. The criteria are fairly level but there is a bit of subjective nature to reviewing anything.

Further still, the reviewers will not see the tally of the other reviewers. My hat goes off to these gentlemen as they have really been putting the screws to the builds. I've gotten some feedback comments as well so I will post those along with the results. These are OPINIONS of the reviewers and may provide some insight and helpful feedback for those who consider building each subject.

Lastly, their instructions have been to review from the start until posts on the cutoff date. Further developments and refinements are a bonus but do not count in the review.

So you're saying that envelope I sent you wasn't enough, and there's a whole TEAM I have to bribe now? :p

Thank you to the anonymous reviewers!
And extra special thanks and gratitude to the last reviewer. ;)

Thanks for putting this together willsonman!
