Maker foam thoughts ?

I just duplicated the horz stab from my lil Whiz plane using this method. Yes, it's thicker, but a heck of a lot stiffer. Had I been really thinking ahead, Io would have left the paper long on the front tabs to cover the seamline on the bottom. This requires a separate elevator but that's achievable in many simple ways. This is blue foamboard I got from the craft store, but I'm sure it will work on any kind.

And you can cut one layer out to nestle in snugly. Makes a nice vert stab too.

Anybody use a low temp iron with the steam option working? Iron the top of the bend, hold flat until it cools, doesn't seem to re warp, at least on what I build. Don't get too hot or you melt the center or scorch the paper.

I'm going to have to try that, thanks!

Very nice build!
I can't wait for the plans to come out!
how dose it fly?
I'll defer to others to answer that ... but from the videos it looks like it is a nice little flyer (I've never met a FT kit that didn't fly amazing so my expectations are right up there.) I'm in northern MN so looking for a weekend day with more moderate temps and calm winds ... might be next May before that all happens simultaneously here. :)
I can say that the Tiny Tutor flies great. Shaky on takeoff (very shaky) but if you accelerate quickly (almost to full throttle right off the bat) then the plane has no trouble taking off within the space of a foot. In the air, it is very stable, but it gets thrown around a bit by wind. If you want a more detailed account of the flight, there is a link in my signature.
