More of an idea.

Was wondering if there will be a "print center" of sorts where builders or (Flite Test Crew) can print Flite Test plans for us scratch builders. Could be like a minimal charge for the service.

Just an idea.

I'm bringing my poster board templates for several FT planes and some of my own as well. Also have ALP's F4U Corsair and will probably have his AT-6 Texan templates done by then too.

If there are specific FT plans that you would like too have templates available for let me know and I will try to make it happen.

Oh yeah, and nerdnic's nnChipmunk templates too.

Thanks for the offer, very generous.

Yea, I suppose there will be a lot of plans floating around. I can put together the plans I have and print out what I don't have yet and bring them along.

Not sure what I was thinking, lol

Are Nitro powered models allowed at flite fest? i could almost make out the sound of one in the pink plane ft extra video. i have a couple of gassers that i love flying and i was wondering if they could be brought to flite fest

Sorry Curtis,

(IMO, that's not a ruling against the sound, just the fuel engine ;) )

I was curious as to whether or not sound modules playing full scale engine sounds would be a problem. I hope it's allowed, it would really add something to my giant DC-3 if the sound of two Twin Wasp radials accompanied the low passes

how many combats are there besides NAS-BWACC?

I haven't heard the official answer yet -- almost not expecting to -- but Last year the combat events depended more on critical mass than schedule. One was formally scheduled on Friday, but when Sat rolled around people kept begging for an open combat (especially with the NASBWACC whetting their whistle). They happily obliged. If enough folks show up on Thursday morning begging for it, scheduled or not, it'll happen :)

As for NASBWACC . . . it's not so much scheduled as Hyped. The beauty of being an "underground" and "unofficial" combat, we get the people excited, then we set a time (and then negotiate for that time with Austin . . . for "fighting the Power", "The Man" from FT can be pretty reasonable ;) )

BAH! With all the FF2015 hype I wanted to just break down and go via the only method I could really afford but the closest the greyhound bus system gets me is canton. -.- Guess I will have to wait for FF2016 and see if I can get dad as excited as I am so we can just drive there. Hope people get some good footage I can watch while sulking.

Canton is not too far from the site. You may be able to get some one to give you a ride. Depending on when you arrive and need to go back, I might be able to give you a ride to/from the event.

I have purchased my AMA membership, and would like to register as a pilot ASAP; however I do not yet have my AMA number, as this is issued with my membership card (which can take up to 4 weeks). I do have my temporary membership document. Is it possible for me to register as a pilot using this document so I do not lose the opportunity to attend?

Thanks,
SG

Should be fine. The Spanish inquisition did not show up asking for my AMA number when I registered. You should have your card by the time the event happens and that is where it really counts. No documentation... no fly.

SG,

Don't worry about it. If your temp document has your pilot number (probably does) then plug that in, else put in a random number for now and we'll lookup your number when you get here.

We won't really need to see your "card" if we can look it up online, though it will speed things up when you check in if the connection out at Furey field is less than able (it was wonky last year and might be again for all we know).
