Are there any instructions, or video on building the wing for the Noob Wonder? How is the wing jig used on building this model? Thanks

Thanks! I did see that post showing the wing. Turns out I was looking at the jig on the plans wrong. I didn’t see the box around the jig and was looking at the wrong cut line.

Look in this forum thread. The pics will help you. I followed the plans and the engineering is great. The only change I made was to expose the last two inches at each wingtip, making them undercambered and remove all "tip stalls "

Met up with some friends at out local flying field. Got to see Tony (@FlyingTyger) maiden his NOOB Wonder. This version with the distinguished tails and unique wing tip plates appears to fly almost identically to all the other versions I have built and tested. I can't wait to see how many Wonders (NOOB and other variants) make an appearance at Flite Fest this year.

Also got to see Andre (@DreOz) maiden his 63% Wonder Racer. There were a couple of trim issues to resolve, as well as some rate/expo tweaking, but it flew, and flew well. Andre's mini was running an emax 1806 2280kv motor with a 6" prop. He flew it on a 3S 850 and a 2S 450. Not sure which battery is ideal for it yet, but I'm sure he'll get it sorted out with a few more flights.

We also had an opportunity to get 3 Wonders in the air for a group fly. Overall it was a pretty fun day out at the field.

Can someone clarify how the 3d printed battery tray is intended to be installed?
This image (see below) is a couple revisions ago, but the concept is the same. The printable battery try glues right to the foam battery tray and can be used with optional velcro battery straps.

I'm new to FT style construction and am starting the "Standard Foam Wonder" plank. I have a question regarding construction of the wing panels. The plans show a cross-hatch section along the trailing edge of the bottom half of the wing panel. Do I completely remove the foam leaving only the paper, or do I taper this edge down to the aileron hinge line? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, remove the foam in that area, and fold the paper over and glue in place.
You can zoom this pic and see how the paper is glued on that section of the wing.

Appreciate that I'm posting to a fairly old thread.

Going to build one of these, is there any difference between the different versions other than cosmetic. Appreciate that the Racer has a significantly different wing shape and rea so ruling that one out.

Then other than the NOOB the others all look the same but with different shaped fins.

So, between the Standard and the NOOB is there any real difference - the NOOB has wing fins, is that decorative or is there a reason which might make the NOOB better than the standard?

I have built and flown both the standard and NOOB Wonder. Even though the NOOB looks radically different because of the bigger fins and tip plates, the two fly very similarly. The only version that really feels different is the racer because the ailerons are smaller.

What are the motor ESC combinations? Looks like something I would like to try. From where did you source these? Thank you.
