I have been waiting for the plans and finally got them I've got foamboard ready and the CO2 laser to cut it but im having issues importing the plans to lightburn I think because there are to many pages I tried to edit down to just the pages I need but the pdf is write protected .

has anyone ever had this issue ?

thanks in advance

So it's a delta wing basically
Not exactly, a delta wing is a rear swept wing in the shape of a triangle. Its name (If I recall properly) is derived from the Greek letter delta, which is basically a triangle. The flerkin, on the other hand, is a forward swept wing that is nearer in my opinion to a plank. :)
Doesn’t change the fact that it’s a pretty cool plane 😎.

Much to the disappointment of those with laser cutters, especially those who were turning around and selling those kits, the new files were designed to prevent exactly that. At least that was my understanding.

I'm pretty sure that if somebody was making money off of flight tests hard work they would be motivated to throw the file in inkscape or corral and do a little bit of fixing to it to make it work. It's not that hard but I guess flight test doesn't want anybody cutting out their plans on a laser cutter including me.
It says right on the plan this drawing is loaned for the sole purpose of printing traceable patterns.
I guess I'm out

Come on, you may be legit but you also should see that others might smell something.

As a laser user myself I hate that dishonest ^$$holes forced this change. The good news is that converting these yourself will help develop skills that will help lead to you and me doing our own plans and that is the ultimate goal after all.

You come on man I don't care what anyone smells. It took me an hour and a half to pull vectors out of that do think thats gonna stop someone from trying to make money all its done is get the new guy accused of being a thief.

Hi Jason!
I'm curious, how did you "pull" vectors out of the plans when the plans have no vectors in them? Did you redraw them or use a trace function in a vector program? Just a question out of technical curiosity.

Also, I'm sorry you were offended and felt accused. You have to understand, cutting files is a very sensitive topic around here and the community can be very protective of Flite Test. It's very difficult to even mention cutting files from FT plans without someone ending up upset. I'm sure you are just wanting to use your cutter to make a kit for yourself as many folks who have that tech do. Unfortunately, you are the guys that get demonized by association. A cutter is a tool. And tools can be used for good things and bad. No reflection on you friend.

no sir I guess pulling the vectors out was the wrong way to put it I traced it most of it by hand. there were images in the pdf not vectors like they used to be and they are blurry when you zoom in but you can get a usable vector off them with a little work . I have not built the plane yet I was gonna give it a shot tonight. and I don't know if that is against the rules if im just going to make the just one for myself and my son ?is it ok to do it the way i did if its just for me?

My understanding is that you can use any tech and make as many as want for personal use. You've only gone astray when you sell what is not yours to sell.

Oh, ok. That makes sense on the vectors. As for you using the files you created to cut planes for you and your son, that sounds, to me, like it is totally within the spirit of Flite Test. :) Have fun making memories that both of you will have forever!
