1st licensed as a novice with code in 1986, still active with a general class license, I like chasing dx, hunting POTA activators and enjoy just rag chewing, and working Sats. Rigs are Icom 746, Yaesu FT901 and an Icom 735 for portable work, antennas are Wilson tribander a diy 135' Off Center dipole with a turner, diy linked inverted dipole for potable work 20 and 40 meters and a hand held diy yagi for working Sats with a Baofeng UV 5RV2+.

Howdee.. I know this is an old thread. But I am a licensed HAM KD3AZR. lets bump this to the top and see what happens.

Fantastic !!! I live in PA attained my General level in the fall of 25. I just got back in to flying planes recently. I found this community and really like the community and the designs. I played around with this type of construction 20 yrs. ago. But it was mainly DIY with SPAD and coroplast construction being the biggest at the time. Hope your having fun !!!

KB5W here. Not active for a few years, but still have all my equipment. I was the operations officer for region 6 Texas Army MARS for a few years and it really burned me out on radios, it was almost like a full time job and not a hobby.
