Me and @SquirrelTail got the idea of doing a one sheet build off during the quarantine. anybody can participate. Post your builds here
RULES
1. Has to be one sheet of foam max (20x30 inches)

2. Cannot be made from plans--FULL SCRATCH BUILD
3. Must include one beginning picture and one finished picture(i.e. pic of your plan drawing on the foam, and and your finished plane ready for maiden)
Thats about it for everything. please join in and HAVE FUN!!!!!!
If it crashes post a pic

So designing in Sketch Up is okay?
As to rule 3, would a picture of the single sheet of DTF after being cut by a needle cutter be acceptable, if accompanied by a ready for maiden picture is submitted as well?

Hi,
Heres my 2/3 sheet of foam and some copy paper build that I made right at the beginning of the quarantine. I sadly didnt take a super early picture, but in the pictures you can see how its constructeted from scratch (didnt use plans, but a three-view)

Its a Henschel Hs P.87 , a German bomber concept from WWII.

I first made a profile-plane, then I cut out some ribs to form the body and then I covered it with normal copy paper. I also made a spinner and painted it completing the look. The cool thing is that its completely closed, so its master series looks on a mighty mini scale (20"wingspan, around Long EZ size). Its powered by a cheap chinese motor-ESC combo that spins the prop from a toy quadcopter. Battery is 350mAh 2S, flying weight is 109 gramms.

Its pretty fast for its size and quick on rolls.

I hope you like it although it doesnt really meet rule 3.

yep. just you cant build from existing FT plans or other pre-made plans. i.e. Local fiend, Mid7night, Sponz, etc

Toyed with some fuselage ideas this morn... I'll have plenty of board left for do overs! Lol

I'm leaving the wing tips unfinished in case I need to extend them for a bit more lift. Working with these little brushed parts makes you walk a very fine line between lift, drag, and weight.

I think I'll call her the ugly duckling...

Barely more than 2/3rds of a sheet, she comes in at 79 grams without the battery. The quad that the motors came from weighed about 85 grams so I have some hope that shes got enough power to fly. It will be interesting to see if the differential thrust alone will be enough control to keep her in the air.

Hopefully I'll get a maiden in tomorrow.

Sorry don't know how I missed this. Yeah I'll join in late but will join just got to figure out what to build.

If I have extra foam leftover from the cub I'll do it. This thing is truly massive!

I kinda want to do a profile 3d micro. I have a UMX board ready to go!
I'd love to see this.

oh crap...i created the build-off and already broke rule #3. i forgot to take a pic before I started building
