I will see about reducing the size of the images

Great, thanks.

I am definitely open to working with FT or making them myself but I don't have access to any of the machinery. I am not familiar with Ken modelplanefoam, is this a normal thing he does?

Just go via the site and email him or I can ask him for you. There are several kits for sale on his site that are not his design. Ken and Mike of modelplanefoam are flying buddies of Don of StrongRCmotors.

Edit: Oops! His site for the kits is www.kenscadmodels.com. I bet it's linked from www.modelplanefoam.com though. :)

nnMoth Minor is done and ready for maiden tomorrow! I will add photos later tonight.

Awesome!

I can't get servos fast enough. I'm honestly contemplating building it without servos, then cutting access panels later. The other reason I'm anxious to build it is so I can paint one. That yellow and red/white/blue looks so good.

Seriously, I ordered 12 this month in preparation for the nnChipmunk and nnMIG 3 :)

I like the yellow also, it looks great on the 1:1 Moth Minor.

I just got back from the flying field and I'm happy to report the maiden was a success! The nnMoth Minor flew great and performed well in pretty much all aspects. I will have the video posted tonight.

If you are waiting to make a nnMoth Minor please wait for the version 1 plans that I will be posting tonight. I will be adding the windshield piece, tail ridge poster board, rud/elv servo plate, and CG mark. No design changes are planned passed the beta 2.

That looks great!

Another successful nerdnic design! Great job!

How does she compare in flight to the FT Spitfire or Mustang (the two planes we both have experience of.)

Thanks Owen!

Flying the nnMoth Minor is kind of its own experience. It's not quite as floaty as the FT Spitfire but it's close. The roll rate is slower like on the FT Spitfire but feels different because of the larger wing span. It tracks like the FT Mustang and has a responsive elevator like the FT Spitfire.

I'll have the Version 1 plans done tonight so you should be good to start building tomorrow!

Yeah buddy!

For now, this is the last slow fly trainer type plane I'm going to develop. I'm going to build my nnChipmunk and nnMIG 3 to handle speed. I'll be putting my NTM 35-36 1800kv in the nnChipmunk and my NTM 35-48 1100kv in the nnMIG 3. They should both push 80.

Nice job. Great maiden. I had a feeling you'd need to kick it up a notch (in terms of speed) after this one. At least you know you can build slow planes when you want to. They're a ton of fun in the park.

The Minor does indeed look like a unique experience. For some reason I got the urge to build a glider, too. I can't wait to see the nnMIG 3!
