So I assume you are just getting static is that correct? The reason I am asking the question is when I connected up my son's unit all I got was a black screen and the only reason I knew it was working was the OSD fired up. The black screen was due to the CCD camera being dead.

I had a closer look at your wiring to last night and it all looks good . . If I were a little closer to Brazil I would be happy to test and compare :) In any case I am about to take some photos and post them up.

If you're getting static then its now working. Bugger! Obviously both lights come on the TX and RX. I know the Dip switch settings I have in my pics work because thomas and I both use these as does jbalatutube (John). Wiring looks good, it must be something wrong with the unit.

Also the AV cable that you are using at the VRX end is the original one that comes with the unit? The reason I ask, is I know I once tried a standard video one and it didn't work. So the wiring is a little different.

yes is the original cable ....

still didnt have the time to test it with another camera, since I DONT HAVE ANOTHER CAMERA to test it ! still looking for help :(

i might as well return this and buy it from foxtech, when you buy a KIT you expect it to function plugging the right wires together ....

With a separate battery, or with the flight battery. A separate battery is better because you don't get voltage drops from the motor.

Sorry if this is a silly question but I assume both the VTX and VRX LED's light up when powered?

I'm thinking of getting into fpv. How do you power the receiver and transmitter?

I use a LiPo battery for both. My current setup is on an AXN, I run the video transmitter off the same battery as the rest of the plane. On the ground I use what ever LiPo I have charged to power the receiver and goggles. I've used a little 1300mah on the base station before for about 30 minutes of FPV and I only used less than half the battery so you don't need anything to big if your just doing short stints.

As far as the wiring goes, it will depend on what gear you buy.

Hope this helps

Was this from HK?

For example I know I purchased the Cheap HK Camera for myself and that's worked fine, then my friends purchased the same camera and they seemed to work well also. Finally for christmas we purchased the same thing for my son and it was DOA, so I sent it back to HK and purchased another, which also turned out to be DOA. In the end I purchased a CCD camera for him from ebay. I'll post some pics of mine in the morning, hope that will help but it sounds like you've done it all ok

Reviving this thread....

Finally i managed to meet some FPV guru in my town; we tested my Kit and it worked !!!! turned out that my camera was DOA; ill order a new one ... any suggestions on a NEW CAMERA ??

I think that's the one Paul uses. I use the Hobbyking sourced 520TVL CCD cam.

I don't have much first hand experience with different cameras yet, but from what I've seen online the 600TVL SuperHAD has a better dynamic range (adjusts to light changes faster and better).

I have the FH18C camera from foxtech works well 12 volt no mic 20 dollar. Does not work well in low light conditions pretty strong survived and 5 meter drop with an speed of about 30KM/h on short grass.

the yellow wire is the red and the red is the yellow ... made the conections and all worked !!! I can only look back in anger of how much FPV time i lost becuase of that chinese worker !! GRRRRRRRRRR

How long ago did you get your kit? That problem was common with earlier HK sourced kits. There was another interesting one where some diode's legs were crossed on some cameras, which required tweezers to uncross them.
