I detached the motor and went slope soaring! Works much better than I expected!
Maybe surface mode is not active. Does the 3D model appear correctly in the preview?Hi, Great model! I printed out all the fuselage pieces and that went great but I got stuck with the rear canopy. Cura says there are bits missing! Any ideas?
I just assembled my (your first rough v-tailed powered glider... First fly and first crush, not experienced flyer. Broken left wing. Realisation: my plane is too heavy and battery 2S not powerful enough to keep it in the air... It was a prototype. Roughly assembler to see it. Fuselage of PLA, wings LW PLA.I am currently designing a beginner friendly 3D pritable airplane. It can be printed from PLA and lightweight PLA. You can already download a few parts, and when I finish new parts, I will add them. That way, you will have a new plane by christmas. Think of it like some kind of advent calendar, but not strictly daily.
It comes with two different wings, one with dihedral and without ailerons and one with ailerons for speedier flying. There is also a detachable landing gear so you can hand launch and belly land if there is no paved runway.
It is also easy to print and to build and does not require carbon fiber, screws or magnets. All you need is 2-4 9gramm servos and Electronics in the range of A-F-Pack. maximum motor diameter is 28mm. Use A- pack if you print out of light filament and F-Pack if you print out of standard PLA.

The first parts already are already done:

You can download the files here, just click on the section in the discription and it should download:
General instructions for printing my airplanes are in the attached files section.
Have fun!

Hey sorry for my first messy message - added bunch of pictures not in subjects...I am currently designing a beginner friendly 3D pritable airplane. It can be printed from PLA and lightweight PLA. Yes. You can edit the post and add/remove as needed.Hey sorry for my first messy message - added bunch of pictures not in subjects...
Possible to remove now???
Any help here??? Thks!!!
Exiting looking good! Keep us posted! I want one!🙂The last few days were extremely busy. Lots of printing and test fitting, but I am very happy so far. This is by far the most complex plane I ever did, it consumed hundreds of hours of CAD design and I even spend two evenings running vortex lattice simulations to calculate the optimal CG and angles of attack. So of course I have extremely high hopes, and Im very excited. Tomorrow I need to print the landing gear and install the electronics.

@gerhard_the_great I sliced the surface parts for you with the Ender 3 preset for LW PLA. I dont like to add the Gcode to my files because every printer and material prefence is different. Cura 1.13 had a bug that made slicing surface models impossible. This bug is now removed. I use 1.11 and it works great. I use Fusion 360 for my 3D models.
@Marťan As I said in post #25, the curved wing did not fly at all. Its best to print it entirely out of light PLA for the best flight characteristics.
