Very cool. This would be cool to fly with the Waco glider I might build. Alas, I have so many things I want to build, but not enough time until school starts in the fall. * sigh *

Good luck with the build! :)

I just came across this thread and am glad I did. I'm thoroughly impressed and am going to follow closely.

Best of luck!

Hello everyone. I'm 67 years old and I started model aircraft flying a year ago. For one reason or another, I'm only now flying in a mentor/student role with an experienced modeler. I have a brand-new FMS Cessna 182, waiting for me to learn to fly it properly. To learn, I built a foamboard trainer with a profile similar to the Cessna.

I'm thinking of building a DC-3 later on; it's truly beautiful, it looks fantastic. I have a few questions:
1. What was the final propulsion system RockNBurn used?
2. Has anyone built this beautiful model?
3. Where is the center of gravity?

I would be grateful if someone could answer these questions. Thank you.

Because this thread is really old, you might not get a response for your questions, Gallego.

If you are really interested in building a DC3/C-47/Dakota/Skytrain/Goonie Bird/Puff the Magic Dragon, there are a couple of places you can go: Flite Test sells a great speed build kit or the father-son team at 13th Squadron has plans for you to cut out yourself with your own foamboard. Both are excellent planes, but beware of low speeds with that skinny wing.

Thanks. I'll check out the links you sent me on FT and 13th Esc.
